The ring games sit at the top of the Omaha ladder, five and six cards. Those are the highest-variance Omaha formats, so a bankroll that is comfortable for the tournament schedule may not be comfortable for the cash tables beside it.

Small fields also change how the end of a tournament plays. With fewer runners, the jump from bubble to final table is short, and pay jumps arrive quickly relative to the blinds — so the periods where survival is worth more than chips come round faster and matter more. Players who have learned tournament poker in large online fields often play these stages too loosely, because in a 2,000-runner event the equivalent pay jumps are a rounding error. Here they are not, and adjusting for that is most of the edge available in a club MTT.
