The Winning Poker Network — which rooms, and whose licence?
The Winning Poker Network is the network behind ACR Poker and several other rooms. If you have been told to compare ACR against Black Chip Poker or PokerKing, it is worth knowing first that they are not separate poker rooms in any way that affects the games: they share one lobby, one player pool and one tournament schedule.
That makes the interesting questions different from the ones a room review answers. Not “which has better games” — they have the same games — but who runs the network, who licenses each room, and what changes when you pick one skin over another.

What sharing a network actually means for you
You are sitting at the same tables. A $50 tournament on ACR and the same event on Black Chip Poker are one tournament with one prize pool, not two. Traffic figures quoted for a single skin describe the whole network's liquidity.
What genuinely differs between skins is the commercial layer: rakeback and promotions, the deposit methods offered, support quality, and which countries the skin accepts. Those are real differences and they are the only ones worth comparing.
It also means a problem at network level reaches every skin at once. When bots were found on the network in 2018–19, that was not an ACR problem with an ACR fix — it affected everyone playing those tables.

What can be independently checked
- The network launched in 2001 as MyPokerNetwork on the Dobrosoft platform, with Americas Cardroom as its first flagship brand; Americas Cardroom moved to the Yatahay Network in 2007, where True Poker became the front-facing room. Its domains were not seized in the April 2011 “Black Friday” action, which hit other operators — truepoker.com and doylesroom.com went on 23 May 2011, among ten gambling domains seized in a separate US Attorney case in the District of Maryland. Documented history, good and bad
- 2018–2019. Botting, cheating and possible superuser allegations were raised publicly against the network's flagship room and the Two Plus Two forums removed its advertising.In April 2019 two accounts were confirmed banned, $200,000 was returned to affected players, and a reimbursement policy capped at $25,000 was introduced. Our assessment — this part is opinion
Three things above are different in kind and it is worth keeping them apart. What each room states about its own licensing is a fact about the page, read on the date shown. What Curaçao's framework requires is a fact about the regulation. What follows from putting the two together is inference — ours — and it is weaker than either.
What we can say: as of 27 August 2026, three rooms sharing one operating company describe their licensing two different ways, and two of them describe a Curaçao sub-licence structure that the December 2024 reform removed.
What we cannot say, and are not saying: that any room is unlicensed, that anyone is misrepresenting anything, or that a player's funds are at greater risk than they would otherwise be. We have not seen the licences themselves. Terms pages go stale on almost every site in this industry, and a stale terms page is the ordinary explanation here — not a sinister one.
The transferable point is the one worth taking away: a licence claim on a website, or in a review, or on a footer badge, is a claim. Where the regulator publishes a register — as Curaçao now does — look it up. Where none exists, weigh the claim accordingly. That holds for every operator, not just this network.
