Deposit USDT on ERC20 — When Ethereum Is the Right Call, and When to Pick a Cheaper Rail
ERC20 is where Tether was born and where it still has the deepest liquidity. It's also the most expensive USDT rail Deep Poker accepts — a single transfer can run from $3 on a quiet night to $30+ during peak congestion. For most poker deposits, another network is a better answer.
Deep Poker still accepts USDT ERC20 with a $1 minimum, zero platform fees, and no KYC — because sometimes your USDT really does live on Ethereum and bridging isn't worth the hop. This page covers the honest math, the cases where ERC20 makes sense, and the cases where it doesn't.
No phone number. No KYC. Just read the gas chart before you send.
USDT ERC20 on Deep Poker — at a glance
The specifics, upfront. Gas is the most volatile number in the table — check a gas tracker before confirming any ERC20 send.
| Typical fee | $3–$30+ in ETH gas | Ethereum gas floats with demand. Low-congestion periods run $2–$5; peak congestion can exceed $30 for a USDT transfer. |
| Confirmation time | 3–10 minutes | 12-second blocks, ~12 confirmations to Deep Poker's safety threshold. Longer during congestion. |
| Deep Poker platform fee | $0 | |
| Minimum deposit | $1 | Technically allowed, but sub-$50 deposits on ERC20 are rarely worth it once gas is paid. |
| KYC | Not required | |
| Address format | Starts with 0x… | 40-character hex. Identical format to BEP20, Arbitrum, and every other EVM chain — the network label is the only thing distinguishing them. |
| USDT contract on Ethereum | 0xdAC17F958D2ee523a2206206994597C13D831ec7 | Verify in Etherscan before trusting any wallet's USDT label. This is the canonical Tether contract on Ethereum. |
| Explorer | etherscan.io | Paste your TXID to watch confirmations climb. |
When ERC20 is almost always the wrong answer
We're going to be direct here, because vague content wastes your gas. For a typical poker deposit, ERC20 is the worst pick among the five USDT networks Deep Poker accepts. Specifically:
- If you're depositing $500 or less,Ethereum gas can be 5–10% of the amount you're sending. TRC20 or TON will deliver the same USDT for a tenth of the cost.
- If your USDT is on Binance, Bybit, or OKX,you're choosing to pay more by selecting ERC20 — the exchange's TRC20 withdrawal fee is typically under 1 USDT, while ERC20 often runs $7–$15.
- If you care about deposit speed, ERC20 is the slowest rail in the USDT lineup — 3–10 minutes of chain time, longer during congestion. TON clears in 5–15 seconds.
- If you're new to crypto deposits, ERC20 has the most failure modes: gas underpayment, stuck transactions, wrong-network sends to BEP20 addresses. The learning curve is steeper here than anywhere else.
We're telling you this before we take your deposit because the relationship matters more than the conversion. If another network serves you better, use it.
When ERC20 is the right call
There are narrow but legitimate cases where ERC20 beats every other rail on Deep Poker. If any of these describe you, send on ERC20 and move on.
You're depositing a large amount where gas is rounding error
Moving $20,000 of USDT? Paying $15 in gas is a 0.075% friction cost. At that scale, ERC20 is fine — and you get the security and liquidity of Ethereum mainnet, which some players prefer for large balances.
Your USDT is genuinely stuck on Ethereum
DeFi-native users sometimes hold USDT on Ethereum that they can't easily bridge out — locked in a yield protocol, or tied up in a position where unstaking has a delay. For those users, ERC20 is the practical choice until the position unwinds.
You prefer a chain you know inside and out
Experienced Ethereum users — people who've held USDT on ERC20 since 2019, use MetaMask every day, and know how to read a gas chart — often stay on the rail they trust. There's nothing wrong with this.
Low-congestion windows
Ethereum gas has strong daily and weekly patterns. Late nights US time, weekends, and periods between major on-chain events tend to run $2–$5 per transfer. If you check a gas tracker and gas is below 15 gwei, ERC20 is genuinely competitive — just don't send during an NFT mint or DeFi event.
If your USDT is on Ethereum but you don't want to pay the gas
You have options. Bridging out of Ethereum is usually cheaper than sending directly from it.
Route 1 — exchange round-trip
Send your ERC20 USDT to a centralized exchange (Binance, Bybit, OKX) as ERC20. The exchange credits your spot balance. From there, withdraw to Deep Poker as TRC20 or BEP20. Net cost is typically one ERC20 in ($7–$15) + one TRC20 out (~1 USDT). This often beats a direct ERC20 deposit because the exchange aggregates gas across thousands of transfers.
Route 2 — bridge to Arbitrum
Arbitrum is an Ethereum Layer 2 with the same security assumptions as mainnet but ~95% cheaper fees. Use Circle's official USDC/USDT bridge or Across Protocol to move your USDT to Arbitrum, then deposit to Deep Poker as USDT Arbitrum. Good pick if you already have an Arbitrum wallet configured.
Route 3 — just send ERC20 if the amount is large enough
For deposits above ~$2,000, the bridge round-trip often costs about the same as a direct ERC20 send, without the extra steps. Do the math once, pick the cheaper route.
ERC20 vs TRC20 vs BEP20 vs TON — the honest scorecard
ERC20 loses on speed and cost to every other rail. It wins on nothing unless your USDT is already on Ethereum.
| Network | Typical fee | Confirmation | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| ERC20 (Ethereum) | $3–$30+ in gas | 3–10 min | You're moving a large amount and gas is rounding error, or your USDT is stuck on mainnet |
| TRC20 (TRON) | ~1 USDT from exchanges | 1–3 min | The default for most poker players — cheap, fast, wide exchange support |
| BEP20 (BNB Chain) | ~0.3–1 USDT | Under 1 min | EVM-native users who want cheap fees and fast confirmations |
| TON | ~$0.02–$0.10 | 5–15 sec | Anyone with USDT in a Telegram wallet or TON-native wallet |
Still the right rail for you?
If you've read this far and ERC20 still fits, good — you're making an informed choice. Create your Deep Poker account and send when gas cooperates.
Deposit USDT ERC20 nowHow to deposit USDT ERC20 on Deep Poker
Seven steps. The first one is the one most guides skip — checking gas before you commit.
- Check current Ethereum gas before anything else.
Open etherscan.io/gastracker in another tab. If current gas is above 50 gwei, consider waiting — a USDT transfer costs roughly (gas price × 65,000 × ETH price / 1e9). At 100 gwei and $4,000 ETH, that's over $26 just for the transfer. ERC20 is the one rail where timing matters.
- Create your Deep Poker account.
Go to deep.poker/register. Email plus password. No phone, no KYC, no identity upload. Under a minute from click to deposit screen.
- Open the USDT ERC20 deposit screen.
In your Deep Poker panel, click Deposit, choose USDT, then choose the ERC20 (Ethereum) network. Deep shows you a permanent 0x-prefixed deposit address and a QR code.
- Copy the ERC20 deposit address.
Copy the full address exactly. Do not type it by hand. Verify the 'Ethereum' or 'ERC20' network label is highlighted on Deep's screen — the same 0x-format address can also route to BEP20 or Arbitrum if you pick the wrong network in your wallet.
- Send USDT from your wallet or exchange on Ethereum.
In MetaMask, confirm you're on Ethereum Mainnet (not BNB Smart Chain, not Arbitrum). On Binance, pick 'Ethereum (ERC20)' from the network dropdown. Paste the address, enter the amount, review the gas estimate carefully, confirm. Make sure you have enough ETH in the same wallet for gas.
- Wait for ~12 confirmations.
Ethereum produces a block every 12 seconds. Deep Poker waits for ~12 confirmations, roughly 2–3 minutes of chain time in normal conditions, longer during congestion. Paste your TXID into etherscan.io to watch the count climb.
- Your Deep Poker balance updates — start playing.
Once confirmed, Deep credits your balance automatically. Transfer chips into any ClubGG, PPPoker, or PokerBros club you have access to. Every hand earns rakeback from the first hand — 25% at Bronze, scaling up the 6-tier ladder to 50% at Legend.
Sending from specific wallets and exchanges
The generic flow is the same everywhere. Here are the specifics for the wallets Deep Poker players actually use on ERC20.
MetaMask
Make sure you're connected to Ethereum Mainnet (the default). Click the USDT token → Send → paste Deep's ERC20 address → review gas estimate carefully → confirm. You need ETH in the same wallet to pay gas.
If MetaMask suggests an unusually high gas fee, wait a few hours and check again. Gas on Ethereum can drop 5x overnight.
Trust Wallet
Open the USDT token with the blue Ethereum diamond logo (not the yellow BEP20 version) → Send → paste address → confirm. ETH balance required for gas.
Trust Wallet shows USDT on Ethereum and BNB Chain side-by-side. The Ethereum one has the blue diamond; the BEP20 one has the yellow BNB icon. Mixing these up is the most common ERC20 mistake.
Ledger / Hardware wallets
Connect your Ledger to MetaMask, Rabby, or Ledger Live. Select the Ethereum Mainnet account. Open USDT → Send → paste Deep's address → review and approve on the hardware device.
Hardware wallets add an extra confirmation step — the address and amount appear on the device screen. Read both carefully before approving.
Binance
Wallet → Withdraw → USDT → network dropdown: Ethereum (ERC20) → paste Deep's address → confirm with 2FA.
Binance's ERC20 withdrawal fee is typically 7–15 USDT flat — the highest of any USDT rail. If you have the option, pick TRC20 or BEP20 instead unless you specifically need Ethereum.
Bybit, OKX, Kraken
Assets → Withdraw → USDT → select Ethereum / ERC20 → paste address → submit. Exchange fees sit in a similar range to Binance.
Rabby Wallet
Switch to Ethereum Mainnet → open USDT → Send → paste address → review gas → confirm. Rabby shows you transaction simulation before signing, which catches most wrong-network errors.
If you're an ERC20 regular and haven't switched from MetaMask to Rabby yet, this is the use case where Rabby's pre-sign simulation really shines.
Ethereum gas, explained for poker senders
Ethereum fees are the most complicated part of ERC20, and the part you can meaningfully optimize. Worth understanding once.
The formula
Every Ethereum transaction pays: gas used × gas price (in gwei) × ETH price, divided by 109 to get dollars. A USDT ERC20 transfer uses roughly 65,000 gas. At 30 gwei gas price and $4,000 ETH, that's 65,000 × 30 × 4,000 / 109 = $7.80.
EIP-1559 base fee + priority tip
Post-London, Ethereum splits the fee into a base fee (burned, set by demand) and a priority tip(paid to validators). MetaMask and most wallets calculate both automatically. The base fee is what moves most, and what you can't negotiate down without risking your transaction getting skipped.
Gas price volatility
Gas spikes during high-demand events: major NFT mints, DeFi liquidations, airdrops, token launches. During calm periods, gas can sit at 5–15 gwei for days. The 10x swing between quiet and busy is normal — patience is the cheapest gas optimizer in the market.
Tools for checking gas
- etherscan.io/gastracker — real-time gas with percentile estimates.
- ultrasound.money — shows gas alongside ETH supply metrics; good for context.
- ethereumprice.org/gas — simple dollar conversions for common transaction types.
MetaMask's Slow / Market / Aggressive
MetaMask offers three speeds. "Slow" pays the lowest priority tip that will still get included eventually (usually within a few minutes). "Market" is the middle. "Aggressive" pays extra to guarantee fast inclusion. For a Deep Poker deposit, "Slow" or "Market" is almost always the right pick — saving $3–$5 in tip costs means $3–$5 more in your Deep balance.
Confirmation times — 3–10 minutes, and why the range is so wide
Ethereum produces a block every 12 seconds. Deep Poker waits for ~12 confirmations before crediting — about 2–3 minutes of chain time in the normal case.
The reason the total range is 3–10 minutes rather than a tight window: during high congestion, your transaction may sit in the mempool for extra blocks before getting included. Low-fee transactions can take even longer, or get skipped entirely. This is why the "check gas first" step matters so much more on Ethereum than on TRON or BNB Chain.
Once Deep sees 12 confirmations on etherscan.io, it credits your balance within a minute. If your transaction is confirmed but your Deep balance hasn't updated after 30 minutes, open a support ticket with your TXID.
Troubleshooting the common ERC20 problems
My transaction is stuck pending for hours
You underpaid gas, and the current base fee moved above your offer. Two options: speed up (MetaMask: click the pending transaction → Speed Up → accept the higher fee) which resubmits at the same nonce with a higher price; or cancel (same flow, Cancel button) which sends a $0 self-transaction at the same nonce and replaces the stuck one. Cancellation still costs a small amount of gas but prevents the original from eventually going through at a bad moment.
I sent ERC20 to a BEP20 address (or vice versa)
Same hex address format on both chains. Your USDT went to the chain you were signed on, not the chain Deep Poker was expecting. Recovery is sometimes possible when the destination is controlled by the same operator. Contact Deep Poker support immediately with your TXID and the chain you broadcast on.
"Insufficient ETH for gas"
You have USDT but no ETH to pay gas. Buy a small amount of ETH on any exchange and send it to your wallet, or swap USDT to ETH inside your wallet using a DEX like Uniswap. Keep at least 0.01 ETH as a permanent gas reserve after that.
Etherscan shows confirmed, Deep balance hasn't updated
Wait five minutes after 12 confirmations. If your Deep balance still hasn't moved after 30 minutes, open a support ticket with your TXID and your Deep account email.
MetaMask estimates gas that seems insane
Gas genuinely does spike during busy periods. Cross-check the estimate against etherscan.io/gastracker — if MetaMask's estimate is within the range the tracker shows as "Fast" or "Market," it's accurate. If the number looks much higher, close the dialog and check for phishing or a compromised token approval.
Someone on Telegram offered to "help" with the deposit
Block them. Deep Poker will never DM you asking to handle your deposit. If someone is offering to move your ERC20 USDT "through them" to save on gas, you're talking to a scammer. See how to verify a ClubGG agent for the full red-flag list.
Withdrawing on ERC20 — same rail, same SLA
Every network Deep accepts for deposits, it pays out on. ERC20 withdrawals sit in Deep's standard SLA — 1 hour typical, 24 hours absolute maximum. Deep covers the gas cost on its end, so the amount you request is the amount you receive (minus the destination-wallet receiving side, if any).
- Minimum withdrawal: $10.
- Maximum withdrawal: none.
- Platform fee: zero.
- Destination: any ERC20 address you enter.
- KYC: not required.
Deep doesn't hold your money. Deep pays it — usually within an hour.
How your ERC20 deposit fits into rakeback
Your deposit network has no effect on your rakeback rate. USDT ERC20, TRC20, BEP20, TON, Arbitrum, BTC, DOGE — every rail lands in the same Deep balance, and every hand you play earns rakeback at the same published ladder.
Deep Poker pays rakeback from your first hand: 25% at Bronze, climbing through Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond up to 50% at Legend. Tiers are lifetime cumulative — they never reset. Payouts are weekly, automatic, into your Deep balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is USDT on ERC20 the same as USDT on other networks?
Same coin, different chain. 1 USDT is always $1, whether it lives on Ethereum (ERC20), TRON (TRC20), BNB Chain (BEP20), TON, or any other network. The issuer — Tether Operations Limited — is the same across chains. The only difference is the rails the transfer runs on.
Why is ERC20 so expensive compared to TRC20, BEP20, or TON?
Ethereum's gas market is demand-driven. Every transaction competes for inclusion in a block, and during busy periods, fees can spike 10x. Chains like TRON, BNB Smart Chain, and TON have more throughput and simpler fee models, which keeps their per-transaction costs predictable and low. For a USDT transfer, the cost difference can be 50x or more.
Can I deposit ERC20 USDT directly to ClubGG?
No — ClubGG itself does not handle real-money crypto deposits. On Deep Poker, you deposit USDT (ERC20) into your Deep balance, then transfer chips into any ClubGG, PPPoker, or PokerBros club you have access to.
How long does an ERC20 USDT deposit take on Deep Poker?
Typically 3–10 minutes of chain time. Ethereum produces blocks every 12 seconds, and Deep Poker waits for ~12 confirmations — about 2–3 minutes in the normal case, longer during high congestion. Exchange-side processing can add 1–5 minutes on top.
What's the gas fee for a USDT ERC20 transfer?
It depends on network congestion. Low-traffic periods cost $2–$5 per USDT transfer. Average conditions are $8–$15. Peak congestion has historically exceeded $50. Check a current gas tracker (etherscan.io/gastracker) before confirming.
Do I need ETH in my wallet to send ERC20 USDT?
From a self-custody wallet, yes — Ethereum gas is paid in ETH, not USDT. You need enough ETH to cover the gas estimate; most users keep $20–$50 of ETH as a permanent gas reserve. On an exchange, no — the exchange covers gas and charges you a flat USDT fee.
Should I pick ERC20 or a different network?
For almost any poker deposit, a different network is better. TRC20 is cheaper from exchanges. BEP20 is cheaper and faster from EVM wallets. TON is the cheapest and fastest overall. Pick ERC20 only when your USDT is already on Ethereum mainnet with no cheap bridge out, or when you're moving a large amount where gas is rounding error.
My USDT is on Ethereum but I don't want to pay ERC20 gas — what can I do?
Bridge first, deposit second. Send the USDT to a centralized exchange (Binance, Bybit, OKX) as ERC20, then withdraw it to Deep Poker as TRC20 or BEP20 — the cheaper-rail withdrawal is often less than half the cost of sending ERC20 directly. Or bridge to Arbitrum via Circle's official bridge or Across, which keeps fees low if you're doing DeFi anyway.
What happens if I send ERC20 USDT to a BEP20 address?
Both chains use the same 0x hex address format, so the transaction usually completes on whichever chain you sent from — meaning your USDT ends up on Ethereum at an address Deep doesn't watch there. Same-operator recovery is sometimes possible. Contact Deep Poker support immediately with your TXID and the chain you broadcast on.
How do I avoid overpaying for gas on Ethereum?
Check etherscan.io/gastracker or ultrasound.money before sending — they show current gas levels and forecast. In MetaMask, switch from 'Market' to 'Slow' to pay the lowest fee that will still confirm eventually. Avoid sending during major DeFi events, NFT mints, or US business hours if you can wait.
My ERC20 transaction is stuck 'pending' forever — what do I do?
You likely underpaid gas and the network is ignoring your transaction. In MetaMask, use 'Speed up' to resubmit with a higher fee (replace-by-fee). Or cancel the transaction with a $0 self-send at the same nonce but higher gas. If you're not comfortable doing this, wait — most stuck transactions eventually either confirm or drop from the mempool after 24 hours.
Can I withdraw my winnings on ERC20?
Yes. Every network Deep accepts for deposits, it also pays out on. ERC20 withdrawals are subject to the same gas conditions as deposits — Deep covers the gas but may time larger payouts to avoid peak congestion. Within Deep's standard 1-hour typical / 24-hour maximum SLA. Minimum $10. No maximum. Zero platform fees.
Does Deep Poker require KYC for ERC20 deposits?
No. Deep Poker does not require KYC for deposits, play, or withdrawals. Email-based registration is the only step between you and the ERC20 deposit screen.
Is ERC20 safe for poker deposits?
Yes — Ethereum is the most battle-tested smart-contract chain in the market, and USDT on Ethereum has existed since 2017. Safety is about sending logic (matching the network on both sides) rather than the chain itself. The failure mode on ERC20 is overpaying or underpaying gas, not chain-level risk.
Is ERC20 supported for ClubGG, PPPoker, and PokerBros on Deep?
Yes. USDT ERC20 lands in your Deep Poker balance, from which you transfer chips into any supported ClubGG, PPPoker, or PokerBros club you have access to. The deposit network has no effect on which clubs you can enter or the rakeback rate you earn.
